Artist Bio
Taylor Raye is a Pittsburgh-based visual artist whose work explores memory, nature, and folklore through
dreamy, layered landscapes. Working primarily in acrylic on wood panel with charcoal drawing elements,
she blends personal story, observation, and imaginative natural worlds, creating work that honors both
emotional and ecological landscapes.
Raye’s practice is informed by her background in community education and her belief in storytelling as a
vital tool for connection. She leads workshops and programs that combine artmaking with nature
observation, recycled materials, and art history, including sessions at The Mattress Factory museum and
Redfishbowl Gallery.
Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including Redfishbowl (Pittsburgh, PA), Wick
Monet (Pittsburgh, PA), Assemble (Pittsburgh, PA), Zan Zan Gallery (Asheville, NC), Q Collective
(virtual), Alexander Hall (Savannah, GA), Non-Fiction Gallery (Savannah, GA), and Hing Ga Gallery
(Hong Kong). She is the 2024–2025 Redfishbowl Resident Artist of the Year, a recipient of the
2024–2025 Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator Grant, and was published in YNST (You’re Not Seeing
This) Magazine (2025).
Raye has completed international residencies at Fish Factory (Iceland, 2019 and 2021) and the Institut für
Alles Mögliche (Berlin, 2018), and studied abroad in Hong Kong and Lacoste, France. She holds a B.F.A.
in painting from The Savannah College of Art and Design (2018) and continues to create work that fosters
connection: to memory, place, and one another
